Terminals map at Denver International Airport
Although Denver Airport is the biggest and one of the busiest in the world, it has only one general terminal building. It is called Jepsen terminal. The terminal got its name after an aviation pioneer Erley Jeppesen.
This construction has 6 levels:
- The first three floors serve as the lowest parking levels and garages. They also include economic parking lots.
- The fourth floor serves as a meeting area for arrivals. Short-term and long-term parking options are also available here for passengers.
- Fifth floor is used for arrivals. This floor is divided into domestic and international arrivals. In addition, it also serves as a parking lot, a drop-off and pick-up area for various vehicles (taxi, cars, and shuttle buses). This floor is also used as the registration are with several check-in points, luggage claim area and luggage carousels where travelers can get their personal belongings.
- The sixth level is known as the departure floor with gate access. This floor is also split into international and domestic departure areas. It also includes reception desks and check-in amenities. It is worth noting that the registration zone is divided into two parts, the eastern and western side, known as Eastern and Western terminals.
- Jeppesen Terminal has three security checkpoints. You can find two of them on the fifth level in the northern and eastern parts of the terminal. It is open from 4 am to 7:45 pm on the north side and available 24 hours on the south side. Another security point is right next to Hall A.
For better and easier orientation, the main terminal is divided in two parts: Eastern and Western. They’re also called West and East parts of the Terminals.
All terminals perform approximately the same function: they serve as a place with gates for boarding, arrivals and departures, provide passengers with comfortable conditions while they wait for their flight, and serve as the registration zone equipped with control points. However, all air companies were given one of the two parts of the terminal for their flights. DEN airport serves as the hub for Frontier Airlines and United Airlines, each of these companies was assigned a separate terminal part. The Western part is used by United Airlines, and the Eastern one by Frontier Airlines.
The main terminal comprises three separate midfield concourses (A, B, C). In total, they have about 180 gates together.
Transportation between Terminals
To go from Jeppesen’s terminal to one of the three halls, it’s best to use the underground transport. Unlike Halls B and C, which travelers can access by underground, Hall A can be accessed by a special footpath. The AGTS train operates 24/7 and stops in the middle of the halls. Don’t worry if you’re short on time, the train will take you to the desired destination in minutes. To be more precise, the journey to the needed place takes about 10 minutes, and the stops last 5 minutes.
Concourse A
A Gates are directly connected to Jeppesen’s main terminal by a footpath (also known as pedestrian bridge). In front of this pathway is the checkpoint on the 6th floor, which operates from 4:30 a.m. till 5:45 p.m.
TSA check points can be found at the concourse, on both, East and West parts.
Concourse A is used for both domestic and international flight. Totally it has of about 40 gates that passengers can reach by metro at the metro station. Gate A33-A37 leads to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The hall comprises some shops, including Duty Free, restaurants and other amenities.
What is TSA Pre check?
This is an expedited passenger screening program; the application program is valid for US citizens. If you’re a permanent and legal residence of the United States, you can apply for an application for accelerated screening. The TSA fee is $78. It provides passengers with a better, quicker and more comfortable registration process. Airlines participating in this program put the TSA Precheck indicator on their passengers’ boarding passes. The participants of this program have several benefits. For instance, while undergoing a security point, travelers shouldn’t remove their shoes, belts, jewelry or computer from their bag. But you should mind, that not all the airlines participate in this program. So, check twice the information about the company you are travelling with.
Concourse B
Hall B has about 70 gates (all of them are odd-numbered). This lounge is served by United Airlines. This concourse doesn’t have a direct connection to the main terminal. To get there you should use the underground train. The station of which is located after the checkpoints.
By the way, this concourse is famous for a large number of dining options, amenities and services. So, in case of having some spare time, it’s worth visiting this hall. You won’t definitely get bored here.
Concourse C
Concourse C includes 61 gates, 16 of which were recently completed during the expansion. Only Southwest Airlines serves the terminal. However, C39 gates are used by Alaska Airlines. To get to this hall, you have to use ground transportation. It’ll take you approximately 10 minutes to get to Terminal C.
Concourse C comprises a wide range of various stores and restaurants serving delicious meals and beverages. Mezzanine level offers travelers a great selection of additional amenities and services, such as SPA, smoking areas, Lounge zones and some more services.

In the main terminal and concourses, there aren’t only registration points, they also offer numerous amenities. The services are as follows:
